A WELL-PREPARED PROJECT

The right questions.
From the start.

Describe the result you want

You do not need to know the name of an electrical component to get started. Explain what you want to do: charge a vehicle, add an appliance, change a room, light an entrance or understand a fault. Describe what works today and what needs to change. Choosing a service helps direct the conversation; it does not replace a review of your particular situation.

Include your city, building type and role in the project. If you are a tenant, property manager or condominium representative, identify who may authorize the work. Preferred timing and a list of equipment already selected also help prepare the first conversation.

Compare the scope, as well as the price

Two projects with the same name can involve different work. When comparing quotations, look at included equipment, affected circuits, the limits of the work and related tasks. Clarify who supplies appliances and who is responsible for openings, finish repairs and coordination with other trades.

A written scope helps distinguish planned work from options and conditions that must be checked on site. Ask how changes will be handled if the assessment identifies additional needs. The website form starts a conversation; price, taxes, terms and a work date must be agreed separately.

Plan work around the way you use your space

Before choosing a date, identify access constraints and activities that need consideration. An occupied home, an office and an open shop require different preparation. Mention operating hours, shared areas and equipment whose interruption needs particular arrangements.

For a renovation, share the planned order of work and appliance delivery dates. A conversation can clarify useful information and whether a visit is needed. In a dangerous situation, do not rely on a contact form for an urgent response; move away from the hazard and contact emergency services when necessary.
